Amen to that, Fooducate! The nice thing about this blog is that it does not promote any kind of quick fix diets or "magic pills" as they say. Instead it gives you tips for how to find, eat, and prepare real food at home with your family. Nearly every dietitian or nutrition expert would tell you that ALL cleanses and detoxes are not a valid way of getting healthy or losing weight. The moment you hear those words, run!

Be careful to much soy is not good for you. Also most soy is GMO so make sure you get organic. They best way to get soy is when it is fermented.

Hi, I would like your thoughts on the following:I shop at HEB stores. One of my favorite brands was “Organics”. Recently, I realized it is one of their private label brands, which is ok. However, some of the items are very similar in quality but not in price to their others private label brands (Hill Country per say). Now, I feel they may come from the same manufacturer and that the “Organics” brand may not be as organic as I thought.

Also, the little Asian tofu houses (mmm... fresh tofu) will have fresh, hot soy milk with none other than soy, water and a pinch of salt and sugar at a fraction of the price. If you have no Asian markets around you look online for soy milk makers. You can get a good one for around $30 bucks and make your own! It is delicious to have hot fresh soy milk in the winter with a little (real) maple syrup mixed in... mmmm!

Asian food markets will offer soy milk as just soy and water. It's also cheaper than the fancy sweetened stuff.
