i have a question and didn’t know where to post it. so im trying here. my question is about soy milk.. i have been paying more attention to soy milk since i drink a lot of. they all seem to have so many additives, preservativs and fillers. why? and where does one find soy milk made with soy and water only. this is driving me nuts.

I also have a question. I read your blog religiously! Thanks for all this great information. I keep hearing about liquid detoxes – specifically the Lemon Diet. How healthy is this thing? Does it actually work? Why is it so popular? Any insights? Thanks!

if you read this blog often, you can probably answer yourself ;-)

Asian food markets will offer soy milk as just soy and water. It’s also cheaper than the fancy sweetened stuff.

Will the fooducate app ever become available for the Palm?

Also, the little Asian tofu houses (mmm… fresh tofu) will have fresh, hot soy milk with none other than soy, water and a pinch of salt and sugar at a fraction of the price. If you have no Asian markets around you look online for soy milk makers. You can get a good one for around $30 bucks and make your own! It is delicious to have hot fresh soy milk in the winter with a little (real) maple syrup mixed in… mmmm!

Hi, I would like your thoughts on the following:I shop at HEB stores. One of my favorite brands was “Organics”. Recently, I realized it is one of their private label brands, which is ok. However, some of the items are very similar in quality but not in price to their others private label brands (Hill Country per say).  Now, I feel they may come from the same manufacturer and that the “Organics” brand may not be as organic as I thought.
