Which Snack would you choose?

Take a look at these 2 snack plates.

Both look pretty tempting.

Ask your self 3 questions:

  1. Which is healthier?
  2. Which one takes longer to prepare?
  3. Which one would your family finish off first?

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to snack smart!

I’m pretty sure that apples and cashews are by far healthier, despite possibly the higher fat content of the cashews (though it’s a very heart-healthy fat). The chips don’t offer much even if they are so-called “vegetables”. They use added fat that’s not necessary (chips can be baked and taste just as good when piled up with guac or salsa). Cashews are sort of a wonder-food, offering up loads of benefits as well as satisfying that need to crunch something, along with the apples. Apples of course, need no introduction. Talk about natures own “80-90 calorie snack pack”.

I wouldn’t worry about the fat in the nuts… you might be getting too much omega 6, but when you compare it to what fat you are likely getting in the chips… it most likely has trans fats. If the chips were made from organic potatoes and coconut oil, I wouldn’t be as concerned, but unless you are making them yourself, I doubt you’d be able to find them.

Apples are actually not really natures own anymore… they’ve been selectively bred (by humans) to be far sweeter than they were. Still nutritions, but way too much sugar in them.

I’m obsessed with snacking on nori sheets, spaghetti squash and WINK frozen desserts (wheat, dairy, gluten, sugar, soy, nuts, eggs & fruit free – and vegan)! YUM

I would pick both…it’s about portion control
