Help spread the health message about sugary drinks and you could win $1,000 from our friends at the Center for Science in the Public Interest!

“Celebrate Food Day, this October 24th by participating in the Pour One Out Contest! Food Day is a nationwide celebration and movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. The contest aims to inspire conversation around sugary drinks and the influence they, as well as their producers, have on the obesity epidemic. Participation in the contest asks you to produce a short video that shows a sugary-drink “pour out” in a fun, creative way. Your videos can help reframe the message around sugary drinks and increase awareness about their harmful health effects when over-consumed. But it’s up to you, as the director, to convey a unique message that merits the grand prize!
Follow the directions below for your chance to win!
- Pour One Out On or around October 24th, coordinate with a few friends, a club or business, or even an entire school to produce a short, original video that depicts pouring out sugary drinks in a fun, creative way on or around October 24th. Avoid copyrighted music because we will be sharing the best entries online.
- Send Us Your Video! To enter the contest, upload your video to YouTube. Then email the video’s YouTube URL link along with your name, age, mailing address, and phone number to email@example.com. By submitting a video, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the official contest rules.
- Details You must be 13 years of age or older to submit an entry to the Pour One Out Contest. Entries will be accepted from Wednesday, September 19, 2012, until 5 p.m. (EST) on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Entries will be judged based on their creativity, originality, and the effectiveness of the health message. Prizes will be awarded to the top three videos in the following amounts, as well as ten honorable mentions:
- 1st place = $1,000
- 2nd place = $500
- 3rd place = $250
- 10 Honorable Mentions = Commemorative t-shirt
